ELECTION  PROCESS

ACB elections will only be held if more people desire a position than vacancies are available. Otherwise, the ACB will vote to assign a member or members to the board. Candidates must reside and be registered to vote in zip code 84757 and must sign a statement when applying for consideration to the ACB that they will use voice, text, and E-mail communications should they be appointed to the board.  

Dates to Note:

Feb 1 - The board of each local district must transmit a written notice to the county clerk that designates the offices to be filled at that year’s election and identifies the dates for filing a declaration of candidacy for those offices. 17B-1-305  

 

Jun 1 - 7 Candidate filing period for traditional elections. For offices not open every day, there are requirements to post contact information or be available. Special district offices also have some nuanced differences. Stay tuned for specific information, but be aware of these dates. 20A-9-203 

 

Jul 3 - Deadline for candidates to submit a bio to the state website. The deadline is 5 PM sharp and applies to the primary election only. Candidates moving on to the general election will need to resubmit.

 

Aug 15 - Municipal Primary Election day

 

Sep 8 - Deadline for candidates to submit a bio to the state website. The deadline is 5 PM sharp and applies to the general election.

 

Nov 7 - General Election Day
